GUS Networks, Inc. Names Dr. Sheldon Shen Chief Technology Officer

Baldwin Park, CA (Feb. 23, 2000) - GUS Networks Inc. names Dr. Sheldon Shen to be its Chief Technology Officer.

"We are delighted to have someone of Dr. Shen's caliber step into this role," says Jerry Wang, Gus Networks' Chief Executive Officer ``By leveraging his past experience and leadership in designing and implementing various systems, programs and software, there is no doubt that he will play an integral role in our continuous efforts to provide the best solutions for our customers.

Dr. Shen will focus on the technological needs of the company and the future trends of networking. He will provide the vision and direction for the company's product line, information resources, and business development.

" Prior to joining GUS Networks, Dr. Shen worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, affiliated with the California Institute of Technology, for 12 years as a member of the technical staff. He designed and implemented various systems, programs, and software. Before that, Dr Shen was assistant professor at Ohio State University, system analyst for Corning Glass Works, and research assistant at both Purdue University and University of South Carolina. He has written 29 articles on many topics, including database design, virtual databasing, database management, decision support systems, and CSMA/CD.

Dr. Shen is a Betta Gamma Sigma graduate of University of South Carolina. He received a B.A. degree from Tsing Hua National University in Taiwan, a M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University. His numerous awards include a Dr. Dickerman's Award from the University of Carolina, an IBM Doctoral Fellowship, and the Ira Kay Memorial Award.
